Social Networks of Diffusion and Adoption: Investigating the Network Effects on implementation of
evidence-based interventions for early intervention providers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Who can participate?
• A Parent/Caregiver or Preschool/Daycare Provider
who supports a child who:
o Is 24-72 months
o Has autism
o Has trouble speaking
o Uses a communication tool (AAC Device)
Why?
The goal of this research is to better understand the use of communication tools and how collaboration occurs about communication tool use in home/school settings for minimally verbal preschool students with autism. We want to learn how your team works together to support the child with his/her communication tool.
What will be expected of each participant?
There will be a 90-minute focus group or interview to discuss the child and his/her communication tool. The focus groups/interviews will be done via Zoom. The focus groups will help us understand who supports you when learning how to communicate with your child.
