DESCRIPTION:For service providers of San Andreas Regional Center only.\nAll day class (5 hours\, plus 1/2 hour for lunch break).\nLearn the standard of practice for assisting an individual with self-administration of medications.  Training is based on the DSP (direct support professional) training by DDS.  Introduction to safe practices in Community Care Facilities to help keep people healthy in regards to their medications. \nMust pass the test with an 80% score in order to receive the certificate.   5 CEUs for this class. \nBring a pen or pencil.  Bring your lunch and a drink or cash to purchase snacks from vending machine.  \nYou may need a sweater or jacket.  Wear your glasses if you need them! \nMaximum of three people per facility/agency to attend any one class in order to leave space for others. DESCRIPTION:For service providers of San Andreas Regional Center only. \nLearn how food gets from our mouth to our stomach\, and some of the problems that can happen when that process does not work correctly.  Video of normal and abnormal swallows.  Hands-on practice with “Thick-It\,” a substance that modifies fluids for a person with a swallowing disorder. \nRegistration is limited to 3 people per facility in order to make sure there is enough space for all who want to attend. \nPlease remind staff when they are scheduled to attend! \nMust pass the test with an 80% score in order to receive the certificate. 3 CEU’s \nClass time is 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Doors close at 9:40! \nBring ticket printout with you\, or show us the email on your phone or tablet. \nTake elevators to 2nd floor and wait quietly in the elevator lobby until check-in time. DESCRIPTION:For service providers of San Andreas Regional Center only. \nAll day class (5 hours\, plus 1/2 hour for lunch break). \nLearn the standard of practice for assisting an individual with self-administration of medications.  Training is based on the DSP (direct support professional) training by DDS.  Introduction to safe practices in Community Care Facilities to help keep people healthy in regards to their medications. \nMust pass the test with an 80% score in order to receive the certificate.   5 CEUs for this class. \nBring a pen or pencil.  Bring your lunch and a drink or cash to purchase snacks from vending machine.  \nYou may need a sweater or jacket.  Wear your glasses if you need them! \nMaximum of three people per facility/agency to attend any one class in order to leave space for others. SUMMARY:Residential Services Orientation for Residential Care Homes
DESCRIPTION:The Residential Services Orientation (RSO) is required for new residential care facilities administrators and for those interested in developing a residential care facility in Santa Clara\, Santa Cruz\, San Benito and Monterey counties. RSO attendance is also required for staff at a Family Home Agency. \nOnly one person per residential care facility agency may register for the RSO. Family Home Agency providers may register as many staff as needed. \nNo later than Friday\, October 11\, 2019\, those interested in being administrators to an existing residential care home\, or developing a residential care facility are required to send a Letter of Intent to San Andreas Regional Center. (Family Home Agency staff are also required to write a letter of intent by the deadline). The Letter of Intent must include both: \n\n Your experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and also\n Why you would like to develop a residential care facility. The Letter of Intent should be emailed to Steve Osterling at sosterling@sarc.org\n\n  \nPlease remember that to attend the class you need to have registered and also emailed a letter of intent. Both steps are required.  \nA confirmation letter\, RSO schedule\, and directions to San Andreas Regional Center will be sent to you a week before the RSO. No one will be admitted to the RSO without both 1. Eventbrite ticket and 2. a confirmation letter from San Andreas Regional Center. Confirmation letters will not be sent to those residential care facility registrants who have not sent a Letter of Intent prior to Friday\, October 11\, 2019.
